Try His Stomach

Wives Try His Stomach

When was the last time you cooked for your husband? Maybe you’re not the family cook, and that’s OK. But I bet there’s something you cook (or ‘assemble’ for the cooking challenged) that your husband loves. Why not spoil him with his favorite dish? I really do think their hearts and stomachs are connected (right, guys?).

I personally love cooking. I’m thankful to my mom who brought me up right – eating and cooking delicious food! She’s the queen, and I still call and email her with questions all the time. (Thanks, mom!) I love cooking mostly because I love eating, but I also love creating something lovely. I’m thankful that our God is creative and gave some of us a touch of that.

Maybe you’re like me- maybe you enjoy cooking and prep most, if not all, of your family’s meals. But when was the last time you made a meal just for him? Here’s why I pick the meals I pick:

  • easy
  • quick
  • cheap
  • yummy (duh)
  • few ingredients
  • Samuel will eat it, too.

And Brad is the best husband when it comes to food – he’ll eat anything I put in front of him and rarely complains. But he has some favorite dishes that I can make but rarely do – mostly because they:

  • take longer
  • are a little more labor intensive
  • aren’t my favorites

I think it would be nice if I pulled out one or two of these and made them for him. Soon.

What’s your man’s favorite dish that you need to put on your menu soon?

It’s WEDDED WEDNESDAY! Bloggers can link up any marriage post during the week. If you’d like to spread the love, add the button to your post, but please link back to me somehow. Button code:

Our family personally has spent way too much time showing love and getting love through food and meals. It is something we have been working hard on taking out of the equation.

That said I have learned using a crockpot earns me points (even if he doesn’t end up eating the meal, haha), cause it creates great aroma in the house. It’s not just about taste apparently.

This is a fantastic point. Thanks for reminding me of this! I love that you are still trying things out that will bless him even when it’s not what you’re used to.

Good advice! I am hoping to make my husbands favorite meal soon. I didn’t get to make it for Valentine’s Day because we were getting ready for moving day!

P.S. I can’t get your button code to work. Just FYI! πŸ™‚

That’s right! How did the move go? Gotta check out your blog today in case you blogged about your VDay move. πŸ˜‰
thanks for letting me know about the button. I see what’s wrong with it and will fix it later today or for next time!

Hmmm Mark is SO not picky when it comes to food, haha. He’s generally just happy if there are good smells coming from the kitchen. That being said, with us being sick this week, that hasn’t happened in awhile, haha. I think it’s time for some home cooked meals.

Oh, and I too had trouble with your button code as well (I use blogger) – but I just recreated it manually.

Mark is such a great guy! Yeah we always get tired of bland foods and sandwiches when we are sick.

I actually just made Jeremy’s favorite thing last night especially for him. πŸ™‚ He has class on Mondays so I decided to treat him to a special Valentines meal on Tuesday instead. He walked in the house, smelled what I was cooking (meatloaf), and got really excited. I try to do this for him often b/c I know it is something that he appreciates.

One of Brad’s favorites is meatloaf too! Of the turkey variety though. It sounds gross but it’s really yummy.

I’m planning to make one of Aaron’s favorites this week — it’s a breaded chicken with lemon-dill sauce. It does take a little extra time and effort, but I try to make it semi-regularly. He’s also pretty easy about food and doesn’t complain, but he lets me know when he really likes something.
